Crowns are fixed devices that are attached with the existing teeth or implants by a dentist or prosthodontist. Crowns are used most commonly to entirely cover a damaged tooth or cover an implant. 

What is the procedure to put a dental crown?
First, your teeth are examined to see if a crown of suitable dimensions can easily fit in. Then filling is done to create space. Then the crown is made after taking the impression of the teeth. The crown is fixed with an adhesive as a final step of the process.

How long do dental crowns last?
On average, dental crowns last between five and 15 years. It depends on your oral hygiene, wear, tear etc.

What is the crown made of?
The dental crowns are usually made of ceramic, porcelain, resin, and stainless steel. Every material has its own advantages and dis-advantages and you should consult with your dentist before going for the material.
